ARTIST BIO

With scanned images and manipulated materials, Abby Sherrill narrates the memory of words through installation, drawing and sculpture. Her work examines the evolution of simplicity, and considers the ways in which we learn and define the world around us by playfully reflecting on the philosophy of the past.

Abby Sherrill earned her MFA in 2015 from the University of North Texas in Denton. She was a recipient of a Nasher Sculpture Center Artist Microgrant in 2015 for Brick Haus Collective, a collaborative art space, and in 2016 was awarded a residency at the Vermont Studio Center. She has exhibited widely; most recently with solo exhibitions at Galleri Urbane Dallas and the Brownsville Museum of Fine Art.

Abby Sherrill is an exhibiting artist at Galleri Urbane Marfa + Dallas.
